Take part in Make a Scene 2026 - a creative modelling challenge celebrating imagination, storytelling, and scenic skills in N gauge.

Whether you're completely new to the hobby or an experienced modeller, this starter kit gives you a structured, accessible way to create your own unique scene - and be part of something much bigger.


What’s Included

Each starter kit includes everything you need to get started:

  • HexTrak base module (manufactured by JSModels)
  • Kato Unitrack section (supplied by TrainTrax)
    • Choose either Straight Track or Curved Track version
  • Scenic foliage materials
  • True to Scale Universal Ground cover
  • RailMatch Sleeper Grime Acrylic Paint pot
  • Plaster cloth / Modroc for terrain shaping
  • Sculptamold sculpting material for building landscape and texture

Every element has been carefully selected to give you a strong foundation, while leaving complete freedom to make your scene your own.

You are free to use elements of the kit, all of it, or none of it! The only stipulations are that it must use the HexTrak base with the supplied track lined up to the markings on the board.
