The RAILstuff x True To Scale Ground Cover Starter Kit brings together five carefully selected scenic materials to give you a versatile starting point for creating realistic ground surfaces on your model railway, diorama or scenic project.
Developed in collaboration with True To Scale, the kit contains five 50g packs covering everything from general earth and groundwork through to railway yards, sidings, roads and weathered hard-standing.
True To Scale scenic materials are produced in Staffordshire using real, carefully graded aggregate, with natural colours and textures chosen to give a much more convincing appearance than generic model scatter.

A natural earthy ground covering ideal for exposed earth, paths, embankments, scrubland and blending areas of static grass into the surrounding scenery.
50g Universal Siding & Railway Yard Scatter
A darker material suited to sidings, workshops, railway yards and industrial areas where you want to recreate the appearance of accumulated coal, ash, dirt and grime.
50g Universal Highway Weathered Tarmac Scatter
Ideal for creating aged roads, hard-standing and other weathered tarmac surfaces around your layout or diorama.
That's 250g of scenic material in total, with five different textures that can be used separately or blended and layered together.
A proper starting point for model scenery
The idea behind this kit is simple: rather than buying a large quantity of one material, you get a useful selection of different ground coverings to experiment with.
Create a road leading into a railway yard. Blend an embankment into the surrounding landscape. Add worn areas alongside the track. Build an industrial scene. Create footpaths, exposed earth or dirty patches around buildings.
The five materials give you plenty of scope to vary the colour and texture across a scene rather than covering everything with one uniform scatter.
The True To Scale range is designed around realistic materials and scale appearance, with its ground-cover products suitable across popular modelling scales including N, TT:120 and OO gauge.

True To Scale products are developed and manufactured by Specialist Aggregates in Staffordshire, using real aggregate which is processed and graded for model use.
